What amazes me about my time at Columbia was the seamless and unrecognized transition, in regards to computer use, that took place between high school and college. Rarely using e-mail or the Internet during my last year of high school (1999), Columbia had me e-mailing professors, and doing Internet research and discussion boards during my first semester. By the end of my four years, we were using online seminars to bolster what we learned in lectures. This is without mentioning online registration and the numerous other uses in our daily lives that became second nature.
